Builder boosts care base with £3.2 million work
A construction firm has completed work on a £3.2 million assisted living base upgrade.
Hobson & Porter has refurbished York’s Glen Lodge.
Work on the 32-apartment site saw the installation of new kitchens, en-suite bathrooms, plumbing systems and a roof.
The 15-month project – delivered alongside City of York Council – also saw bedrooms and lounges redecorated, electrical systems rewired and outdoor spaces refreshed at the Heworth-based care hub.
Dave McCorrie, senior site manager at Hull-headquartered Hobson & Porter, said: “Glen Lodge needed a complete refurbishment to bring it in line with modern standards.
“We are delighted to have delivered a project that will significantly improve the comfort and quality of life for its residents.
“As well as vital structural and mechanical works, we’ve created bright, accessible spaces that residents can really feel at home in.
“We’re proud to have played a role in securing the future of Glen Lodge for the next generation of residents.”
