Avison Young strengthens Midlands planning leadership
Avison Young has appointed Tim Evans as head of its Midlands planning team, following Nick Hardy’s decision to focus on other areas of the business.
With more than 15 years at the Birmingham office, Tim brings extensive experience leading multi-disciplinary teams and advising high-profile clients.
His expertise spans housing, higher education and logistics, and he currently supports projects including Loughborough University, Jelson Homes, Barratt David Wilson, Homes England and Vital Energy.
Tim will oversee strategy, growth and output for one of the region’s largest town planning practices, while continuing to advise existing and new clients.
Under his leadership, the team is managing the delivery of around 15,000 new homes across the Midlands.
Tim said: “I’m incredibly excited to step into this leadership role after more than 15 years with the business.
“It’s a real privilege to lead such a well-established and high-performing team, and I’m grateful to my predecessor Nick for the strong foundations he’s left behind.
“My focus now is on building on that success as well as growing the team, expanding our client portfolio and continuing to strengthen our presence across the Midlands.
“It’s an exciting time for the business and I’m proud to be playing a part in its next chapter.”
Craig Alsbury, principal and national head of planning at Avison Young, added: “This is a fantastic appointment and I’m really pleased to see Tim step into this key role.
“I brought Tim into the business back in 2006 and have worked closely with him ever since.
“He has exactly the right experience, skills and drive needed to take the team forward, and I am confident that he will take them to new heights.
“Nick has done an amazing job over the last couple of years, and I am immensely grateful for the contribution he has made to reshaping the team.
“Nick is not going anywhere, he is critical to the services that we provide for a number of nationally significant clients and he will continue to play key roles on major mandates and projects going forward.”
Serving clients since 1980, the Midlands planning team now accounts for nearly 20 per cent of Avison Young’s national planning workforce.
