NEIFF campaign achieves record-breaking reach
A Newcastle-based communications partnership has delivered a record-breaking campaign.
Independent agencies Marriott Communications and CgPR joined forces to lead the PR for the North East International Film Festival (NEIFF) 2025, turning the month-long festival into a global conversation about independent film, diversity and creative excellence.
The agencies managed all media relations, stakeholder engagement and digital communications, promoting red-carpet premieres, social impact films and inclusive programming.
Reaching audiences across 75 million publication views and achieving 16 pieces of premium coverage, the campaign highlighted films such as Cut Short, The Corinthians: We Were The Champions, and Breakwater.
Their strategy secured extensive coverage in national, regional and trade outlets, including BBC, Screen Daily, UK Film Review, NARC. and ITV, while boosting audience engagement to record levels across screenings and events.
The collaboration showcased the power of authentic storytelling and regional pride, reinforcing the North East’s reputation as one of the UK’s most dynamic cultural destinations.
Chrissie Pringle, founder of CgPR, said: “This partnership brought together two agencies who share a belief in the power of authentic, story-driven PR.
The results speak for themselves – real impact, real engagement, and a real celebration of creativity.”
Samuel Marriott-Dowding, founder of Marriott Communications, added: “Together with Chrissie Pringle and CgPR, we set out to show what’s possible when regional creativity meets national-level strategy.
“NEIFF’s success proves that the North East’s cultural voice is stronger than ever.”
Festival director Lisa-Marie Tonelli added: “Working with Marriott Communications and CgPR elevated NEIFF to an entirely new level.
“Their creativity, professionalism, and strategic approach helped us tell the story of the festival - and the North East - in a way that resonated far beyond the region.”
