Saffery expands Edinburgh team with 15 hires
Edinburgh-based chartered accountancy and business advisory firm Saffery has strengthened its corporate tax, audit and accounting divisions with 15 new appointments.
In the corporate tax team, Louise Anderson joins as senior manager, alongside manager Aimee O’Hara-Wilson and tax assistant Sophie Murray.
Louise, who has spent more than 25 years working in Edinburgh at both a ‘big four’ firm and at an independent accountancy practice, as well as within an in-house accounts team, said: “Moving to Saffery is an opportunity to join one of Edinburgh’s best-known and most respected accountancy firms.
“The variety of the work also really appealed, with the firm working for businesses and organisations of all shapes and sizes, and across all industries, so I’m really looking forward to the challenges and opportunities ahead.”
The audit division welcomes senior associates George Dickson and Oliver Kelly, associate Max Venditti and audit assistants Nathan Stringer, Lewis Murdoch, Ollie Stevens and Freddie Lambert.
Saffery has also added three new accounts assistants – Pearce Hopkins, Lilian Morrison and Oliver Magowan – with Clare McCulloch joining as executive assistant and Sophie O’Driscoll as business support assistant.
Three interns are also completing placements within the team.
The firm, one of the UK’s longest-standing independent accountancy practices, now employs more than 75 people in its Edinburgh office following its recent relocation to Haymarket
Sean McGinness, partner and head of Saffery’s Edinburgh office, added: “Over the past 12 months we’ve grown significantly in Edinburgh due to our full-service offering.
“Although we’re widely known for being one of Scotland’s leading landed estates and private wealth advisers, businesses and their owners increasingly recognise our team’s strength when it comes to guiding them through the UK’s ever more complex corporate tax rules and compliance obligations.
“Our accounting and audit divisions have also experienced significant growth with numerous high-profile client wins due to our partner-led, bespoke approach, which is firmly focussed on giving clients a service that is highly productive and always adds value by improving how their business or organisation performs.
“It’s a pleasure to welcome so many new faces into our team and it reinforces our reputation as an employer of choice within our industry.
“There’s no doubt that they will all further enhance the service levels that our clients enjoy and we’re already planning to make several more appointments, in the coming months.”
