John N Dunn Group invests in Yorkshire apprentices
Building services company John N Dunn Group has strengthened its Yorkshire presence with the addition of four new plumbing apprentices to its Leeds office, continuing its long-term investment in early careers and regional growth.
The new apprentices – Ciaran Husband, Riley Yoxall, Ben Redmond and Kaylum Dempsey – join as the Newcastle-headquartered building services contractor sees sustained demand across Yorkshire.
Their arrival forms part of a wider intake of 13 new plumbing apprentices taken on across the business over the past year, spanning Leeds, Newcastle and Scotland.
James Harris, managing director of the Yorkshire office, said: “Apprenticeships have always been at the heart of what we do and that hasn’t changed in over 130 years.
“Developing new talent is part of our DNA and we see apprentices not just as trainees but as future leaders who will carry our values and expertise forward.
“From a business perspective, our order book is strong and we’re seeing significant growth across Yorkshire.
“That creates the perfect environment for apprentices to learn, grow and thrive alongside experienced teams.
“It’s a great time to join the industry and I’m incredibly proud of the role we’re playing in shaping the future workforce.”
Founded in 1893, John N Dunn Group delivers major projects across residential, healthcare, education, commercial and public infrastructure sectors.
The business has a strong track record of progressing apprentices into long-term technical and leadership roles, recently marking its 500th apprentice and receiving national recognition for its commitment to skills development.
Stephen Bilclough, group chairman, added: “Apprentices have always been the backbone of our business.
“They bring energy, curiosity and a fresh perspective, and many go on to become the leaders of tomorrow.
“Since the start of the financial year, we’ve seen renewables making up a significant percentage of the work we’re undertaking, which is very encouraging.
“As we look ahead, we’ve got a clear focus on equipping our apprentices with the skills they’ll need to thrive in this area.
“Training them in renewable technologies is a priority and we’re committed to the role they’ll play in supporting a more sustainable future.”
