Dacres Commercial promotes chartered surveyor
Yorkshire-based commercial property consultancy Dacres Commercial has promoted Hedley Steel after he qualified as a chartered surveyor in agency and valuation.
Hedley successfully completed the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors’ assessment of professional competence (APC), achieving chartered status following a rigorous programme assessing technical, professional and business expertise.
He joined Dacres Commercial in 2022 after graduating from Birmingham University with a degree in real estate and now works predominantly across the firm’s Leeds and Ilkley offices.
Hedley said: “The APC is the gold standard for property professionals and after years of studying and working, it’s very satisfying to successfully complete this prestigious qualification.
“Since joining Dacres Commercial I’ve learned a huge amount and thoroughly enjoyed the last few years.
“A large part of this is down to the huge variety of work we do, meaning I’ve been involved with marketing industrial units in the Yorkshire Dales, retail parks, historic Grade II-listed buildings in Conservation Areas, as well as all types of office space and retail units in Yorkshire’s towns and cities.
“No two days are ever the same and I’m really looking forward to continuing my career as a fully qualified chartered surveyor.”
Headquartered in Leeds city centre, Dacres Commercial is part of the Dacre, Son & Hartley group and provides a full range of commercial property services.
The firm is also a leading specialist healthcare advisor, supporting GP surgeries, medical centres and pharmacies across the UK.
David Ogilvie, who heads up the commercial division, added: “Hedley is an important member of our team who is popular with both his colleagues and clients alike.
“Crucially, he always adds value to whatever he’s working on by providing reliable and considered advice.
“He’s worked very hard to secure his APC, which he thoroughly deserves and there’s no doubt he has a great future ahead.”
