Bluebay promotes commercial director
Independent civil engineering and construction products distributor Bluebay Building Products, which is headquartered in Cardiff, has promoted Emma Ward to commercial director following a strong first six months with the company.
Emma joined Bluebay in summer 2025 as sales director and has since led the growth of a nationwide sales team, supported the introduction of new products to the UK market and overseen the opening of new depots in Thurrock and Milton Keynes.
She has also played a key role in progressing plans for a further depot in Scotland.
Emma brings extensive sector experience from previous senior roles at Huws Gray Group and Travis Perkins and will now take on wider responsibility for Bluebay’s commercial strategy as the business continues to expand.
She said: “I am overjoyed with this new role and am grateful to Lucy for her support and the confidence she has in me.
“Bluebay is a fantastic business filled with wonderful people who inspire me to work hard to ensure we deliver.
“As commercial director, my focus will be on strengthening relationships with our customers, with a real focus on our product and service offering and ensuring that we meet the evolving needs of the construction and civil engineering sectors.
“This includes responding to changes like building safety regulations and the golden thread, while bringing innovative new products to market that support our social value and sustainability commitments.”
Emma’s promotion comes during a period of significant growth for Bluebay, following its acquisition by the Wolseley Group in 2025, which has supported continued investment while the business operates independently.
Lucy Furnival, managing director at Bluebay, added: “We are delighted to promote Emma to commercial director.
“She brings a deep understanding of our sector alongside a strong commercial focus and has already played a pivotal role in driving the business forward.
“Emma’s contribution to date has been outstanding, and I’m proud to have her alongside me as we continue to grow in 2026 – delivering an industry-leading service and product range, opening new branches, and supporting our long-term ambitions.”
