Sage Group hails AI impact as revenues rise
A North East-founded international software firm has hailed the impact of artificial intelligence after seeing revenues rise.
Sage Group saw total revenue increase ten per cent to £674 million in the three months to December 31.
Bosses say the uptick was fuelled by demand for its artificial intelligence-backed Sage Intacct accounting platform and its Sage Business Cloud arm, which provides SMEs with finance, payroll and HR management software.
The latter saw revenue rise 15 per cent to £574 million, as existing demand was complemented by new customers.
The Newcastle-founded firm also enjoyed growth across its principal geographical areas.
Revenue was 13 per cent better off in North America to £304 million, thanks to a “strong performance” from Sage Intacct, with the platform and sister small business functions helping revenues rise ten per cent to £194 million in the UK, Ireland and Africa.
In Europe, revenue increased seven per cent to £176 million.
Jacqui Cartin, chief financial officer, said: “Sage delivered a strong start to the 2026 financial year, with first quarter organic revenue growth accelerating to ten per cent.
“We are investing in innovation across our artificial intelligence-powered platform, helping small and mid-sized businesses solve their day-to-day challenges and work more productively.”
Sage Group listed on the London Stock Exchange in 1989 and began entering international markets in earnest from the early 1990s.
Today, the firm, which runs operations from North Tyneside’s Cobalt Park, serves millions of customers across countries in mainland Europe, Africa, Australia, Asia and Latin America.
It has further UK bases in London, Manchester, Bristol and Wokingham.
