UK Greentech expands with North Shields branch
A national wholesaler and distributor of renewable energy products has expanded its footprint with a new North East site.
UK Greentech has opened its 17th UK branch at Tyne Tunnel Trading Estate in North Shields.
The company, a division of Edmundson Electrical which supplies products including solar panels, heat pumps, batteries and associated equipment, positioning itself as a one-stop shop for installers and contractors, has taken on a newly built 10000sq ft warehouse and retail unit, offering a wide range of renewable products for trade customers.
The new branch builds on the success of its Middlesbrough site, which opened in 2023 and has become one of the company’s most profitable locations.
Developed by UK Land Estates, the North Shields site was selected for its location and modern, energy-efficient design.
Brad Capps, operations manager at UK Greentech, said: “The UK Greentech division of Edmundson Electrical was created to be a renewables specialist allowing us to offer expert support and service to our customers.
“We’ve opened 16 branches across the UK and Ireland so far and the opening of the Newcastle branch will mark yet another major milestone for the company.
“We have a very successful branch in Middlesbrough, which is one of the most profitable across the entire group, so we know there’s a huge market in the North East and Newcastle was the next logical step.
“We were looking around the area and B1 just ticked all of the boxes.
“In fact, I think it’s probably our nicest unit now.
“It is in a prime location just off the A19, making it a short drive from Newcastle, Sunderland and South Northumberland and has been fit out to an exceptional standard.
“We’ve also been able to install our solar panels which have made it even more energy efficient, helping us to not only bring down costs but also demonstrate to our customers just how tidy our products look.
“We are delighted to have finally opened our doors and look forward to welcoming customers new and old over the coming days and weeks.”
David Gibbs, property director at UK Land Estates, added: “We are delighted to welcome UK Greentech to Tyne Tunnel Trading Estate.
“We have seen a whole host of major brands invest in the estate over recent years, from wholesalers to manufacturers and distributors, and the arrival of UK Greentech will further bolster its offering.
“The business is a fantastic UK success story, and we are thrilled to have been able to support them on this next stage of their journey as they continue to expand across the nation.”
