A REGION OF EXCITING CHANGE
Change is sweeping across North East England.
From a historic devolution deal to commercial advances primed to redraw the world, the North East is a region on the move. Focusing on the achievements and future promise provided by the area’s two mayoral-led regeneration bodies, its ground- breaking manufacturers, thriving healthcare innovators and digital leaders shaping tomorrow’s advances today, Why the North East? will showcase the region to a new and influential audience at a high-level London summit.
A BLUEPRINT TO SUPERCHARGE GROWTH
Our Vision31 London summit is the latest chapter in NET’s VISION 31 campaign. Founded in 2021, and spearheaded by a programme of high- level roundtable and panel discussions, it has created a blueprint to supercharge North East industrial and economic growth across the next decade.
Four events took place across 2022 and 2023, focusing on topics including the built environment, devolution, energy transition, funding and investment, healthcare, manufacturing, skills and technology.
Each was a huge success, provoking colourful and in-depth conversations that were captured across multi-platform publisher NET’s print and digital channels. And now the campaign is moving to a new phase.
The London event will amplify the North East to City investors, business leaders and sector experts, highlighting the game- changing advances it is hothousing, the highly-skilled workers it is nurturing and the transformative projects it is leading to deliver a sustainable future for all.
Set to be complemented by further panel events in Sunderland and Teesside, the campaign will show the North East is ready to lead another industrial era, just as it did with coal mining, shipbuilding and through the iron and steel that helped forge the world.
