Make it as a musician with NExNE 2006
North East musicians will have the opportunity to hear how to make a living from songwriting, start a label, become signed, and successfully run a music business in the North East with NExNE.
NExNE is a series of discussions, seminars and live events for musicians and music businesses in the North East. Taking place in Teesside from Monday 18th to Thursday 21st September, the events are run by North East popular music development bodies Generator and From Teesside with Love.
Seminars include how to make a living from songwriting, why bands are signed to record deals, looking at the role of women in the music industry and how to break into a male-dominated scene, and a crash course in setting up your own music business. Speakers include singer songwriter Kathryn Williams, Mud bassist and co-writer of Kylie hit �Can�t Get You Out Of My Head� Rob Davis; and Martin Brammer, songwriter for the Lighthouse Family, Tina Turner and James Morrison.
In addition to workshops, NExNE will feature live music, including Japan for Sega, Kathryn Williams and The Storys. For more information about NexNE please see http://www.generator.org.uk
