Investment prompts recruitment drive for gaming software company

A Gateshead-based gaming software company has embarked on an ambitious recruitment drive following a £250,000 cash injection from a fund management company. Eutechnyx is on the look-out for 15 more graduates and experienced videogame developers to join their 100-strong team to work on the development of current and future generation console titles. The specialist video game developer already boasts an impressive portfolio of world-class titles including Ford Mustang - The Legend Lives, Hummer Badlands and the BAFTA Award Winning Big Mutha Truckers to name but a few. The company is currently developing a number of titles including The Fast and the Furious and Cartoon Network Racing. The investment loan was completed through NEL’s specialist debt and mezzanine finance division, Evolve Finance. Steve Garbutt, fund manager at NEL, said: “Eutechnyx has a highly skilled development team that includes six doctors from scientific disciplines. They have used this expertise to carve out a real niche in the videogame vehicle racing sector. “The investment application was very clear cut and provided an opportunity to learn all about gaming software development, which is a highly competitive sector. We are more than confident that Darren Jobling and the team have what it takes to move the business onto the next level, building on their existing reputation as one of the North East’s success stories.” For more information about NEL and its investment criteria, please visit www.nel.co.uk or call 0191 442 4300 / 01642 626 309.
