Keep indie coffee alive
A new website is giving people the opportunity to support their local independent coffee shop by adding its details to www.delocator.org.uk. Delocater is an online map of the UK, with information on how to find you nearest indie coffee house. Delocater aims to “promote the UK’s many independent cafés, in the hope that the UK will keep its diverse cafe culture rather than becoming yet another endless, dull franchise.” The website also points out that in 1996 there were no Starbucks stores in the UK - today there are 449.
