Multi-million pound enterprise plans to be unveiled
Multi-million pound plans to boost business enterprise in South Tyneside are to be unveiled next month. The new Spirit of Enterprise initiative – an ambitious three-year programme of high impact enterprise projects - will be launched as part of Tyne & Wear Business Week at the start of July. Local businesses are being invited to hear how organisers behind the initiative intend to distribute and spend £16.2m to boost existing businesses and stimulate further economic activity around South Shields, Jarrow and Hebburn. Initiated by the South Tyneside Enterprise Partners, the Spirit of Enterprise strategy is focused around ten Big Ideas all aimed at stimulating and supporting businesses throughout the area. These include: Enterprise in your Community, to encourage budding entrepreneurs; Finding the Money, to provide access to business grants and loans; and Share an Expert, providing specialist managerial support to growing business.The event will take place at 11.30am on Monday 3rd July at the Boldon Quality Hotel. It will introduce local businesses and entrepreneurs to three specific projects within the Spirit of Enterprise Strategy, including Access to Finance, the South Tyneside Business Forum and the Business Growth Programme.
