New funding partnership is brewed to perfection
Investment finance company NStar has joined forces with venture capitalists Beer & Partners to increase the amount of funding available to entrepreneurial businesses in the North East. Through the partnership, NStar aims to give the region’s businesses access to Beer & Partners’ network of over 1300 private investors across the UK. Jonathan Gold, a director of NStar commented: “We are very pleased to have established this relationship with Beer and Partners as it will help create a number of new funding opportunities for firms in the area. “This collaboration will be of particular benefit to firms who are moving out of the concept stage and moving forward looking for their first few hundred thousand. The Proof of Concept fund provides investment at the earliest stages of business creation and aims to stimulate the growth of young companies, to the point where conventional funding becomes available. “The link with Beer & Partners’ investor network will increase the options already available to North East companies seeking further growth finance. “ NStar is working to attract further investment into the area by sourcing private co-investment and attracting additional venture capital funds on a national and global basis. Chris Webber, director of Beer & Partners with responsibility for the North of England, Scotland and Ireland, commented: “Essentially this arrangement enables us to offer our investors the chance to participate in the development of the most promising science and technology businesses in the North East. “With NStar’s reputation and our own track record, we’re confident that this will reap rewards for all those involved.” Those interested in further information about NStar should contact Jonathan Gold on 0191 211 2300 or visit the website at www.nstarfinance.com.
