Tom Baker To Voice Talking Texts
Doctor Who star Tom Baker is the new voice of text messages.
Brandrepublic.com reports that the actor, who has also worked on ‘The Magic Roundabout’ and ‘Little Britain’, has become the new voice of BT Text, the service where text messages sent to landlines are converted into voice messages.
Tom Baker spent 11 days recording 11,593 phrases, which could then be broken down into separate sounds to then create every possible word in the English language. Tom will be prepared to say anything. For example, if “xx” is put at the end of a text, Baker will say “kiss, kiss”. If there are four or more “x’s” will make Baker say “lots of kisses”.
Tom Baker was recently voted fourth most recognisable voice in the UK, behind the Queen, Tony Blair and Margaret Thatcher.
