Volunteers with giantminds sought
A school challenge which encourages pupils to combine imaginative with business acumen is seeking volunteers. Creative thinking and enterprise programme giantminds is teaming up with Newcastle EBP to run a challenge for two schools at Newcastle’s Discovery museum on 4th July. The challenge will see Year 9 pupils encouraged to imagine they are alien entrepreneurs trying to break into the lucrative ‘earth’ market. They can let their minds run free with fantastic futuristic technologies and design something truly wacky! On 12th July, giantminds will travel down to Bishop Auckland to work with year 10 pupils from St John’s school on a more down to earth ‘real-world’ challenge. Business people from the region’s business community are being sought to assist with the challenges. No preparation is involved and you will only be required to give up a school day’s worth of time. If you are interested in volunteering or would like to find out more contact Peter Hirst on 0191 230 5742 or email: p.hirst@bridgeclubnorth.com.
