Elephant polo
The competitive American spirit received more than a small blow at the King’s Cup Elephant Polo Championships held in Thailand this month.
An Italian opposition, as well as some oversized and rather unwilling team-mates, dominated their debut into this new, bizarre sport. Kimberly Zenz, the U.S Captain, struggled with a very hungry animal who proceeded to munch most of the polo field, and then, to add to her shame, accidentally stepped on the polo ball, squashed it, and suspended play.
