90% of delegates would return to NewcastleGateshead
NewcastleGateshead is “friendly” “interesting” and “vibrant,” according to a poll of over 500 conference delegates from outside the region conducted by NewcastleGateshead Convention Bureau.
In addition, almost 90% of delegates would make a return trip to the city for a leisure visit. The national average is 39%, according to data from the Business Tourism Partnership, the body that represents the leading trade associations and government agencies involved in conferences, exhibitions, outdoor events, meetings and incentives. 98% said they found it easy or very easy to get around the area during their stay. NewcastleGateshead was last month named the easiest city in the UK to get around according to readers of Condè Nast’s Traveller magazine.
Andrew Dixon, Chief Executive, NewcastleGateshead Initiative, said: “The message is clear, conferences are introducing new people to NewcastleGateshead and visitors are quick to fall in love with the area.”
