2) Cook
35 hours per week, Monday to Friday. £12,740 per annum plus pension and excellent holidays
We seek a Cook to prepare and cook cost effective, hot, nutritious meals for older people in Age Concern Sunderland’s Day Clubs and Services based at our Bradbury Centre and in the community. The post includes responsibility for other catering requirements as and when appropriate.
Requirements of the post:
- Qualifications in either NVQ3 Food Preparation and Cooking, HNC in Catering or experience of working in commercial kitchens
- Experience in providing meals for older people and of working with volunteers
- Knowledge of meals transportation, budgeting and stock control
- Ability to work on own initiative, run own kitchen and prepare meal plans
- An understanding of the dietary needs of older people
- Basic Food Hygiene qualification
