North East England set to make mega impact on Capital
Three huge banners showing North East England in all its glory will be on display to commuters in London over the next two months. The “Passionate people. Passionate places” ‘mega banners’ will be launched on 26 February and will be on display in three prominent locations in the capital. The adverts promote North East England as an excellent place to do business, live, work, study and visit.
The three banners include portraits of people who work and relax in the region, as well as images of Bamburgh Castle, Hartlepool Marina and Weardale. Each one depicts a different aspect of life in the region from business to pleasure and will be on display for two weeks each until 8 April.
Stacy Hall, Director of Communications at One NorthEast said: “The mega banners are a high profile, innovative way of promoting the region to a wider audience. “We’ve chosen these locations because of the extremely high viewing potential among financial and creative decision makers in the city. “This will help emphasise the importance of business within the Regional Image campaign as well as raising the profile of North East England to encourage the commuters of London to come and find out about the region for themselves.”
It is the first time that adverts of this size for the region will have been seen in London. They form part of an on-going media campaign, which includes TV advertising, adverts in national newspapers and magazines, branded taxis, large format posters on the London Underground, as well as branding in North East airports and at London Heathrow.
