One is away from the telephone right now?
This has to be one of the best stories I’ve heard about the royal family in a long time. It seems that Princes Harry and William are not above a bit of student pranking even after they’ve left education, and this time the unwitting dupe was their regal grandmother. The pair were enlisted by the Queen when she needed help recording a message for her answerphone.
They had previously taught her how to send text messages on her mobile, so she must have assumed she was in safe hands. According to The Star, Wills and Harry recorded a message that ran: “Hey wassup! This is Liz. Sorry I’m away from the throne. For a hotline to Philip, press one. For Charles, press two. And for the corgis, press three.”
The Queen was reportedly mortified, but saw the funny side later.
