Businesses encouraged to enter Wearside awards
This month will see the launch events for the Sunderland Echo Portfolio Business Awards 2007. Last year’s awards were reported as a ‘resounding success’, with 300 people attending the dinner to recognise and celebrate the achievements of the Wearside and East Durham business community.
The organisers are hoping to build on that success and attract even more applicants this year. The launch event will give businesses the opportunity to learn more about the awards procedure and categories, find out what the judges are looking for and pick up an application pack. There will also be the chance to chat to representatives from last year’s overall winners as well as this year’s sponsors, Sunderland City Council and One NorthEast.
Two launch events will be taking place: the first will take place on Tuesday 15 May at the Stadium of Light, Sunderland, from 12 noon until 1.30pm. The second will take place on Thursday 17 May 2007 at the new offices of East Durham Business Service – Novus Business Centre at the North West Industrial Estate in Peterlee – from 12 noon until 1.30pm.
If you are able to attend, please RSVP to Lorraine Surtees at Sorted PR and Events on 0191 265 6111 or by emailing lorraine@sortedpr.com before Friday 11 May.
