Jan is success 'Storey' for Business School
A member of Newcastle Business School (NBS) at Northumbria University has received top recognition after being voted the Chartered Institute of Marketing ‘Post Graduate Student of the Year’ following the successful completion of a two-year MA Marketing course at NBS. Jan Storey, from Newcastle, has the role of ‘Information Specialist’ at NBS as well as managing the university’s ‘Library and Learning Services’ department, two positions which she continued to manage while studying part-time for her MA.
Within her dual role, Jan has access to the entire portfolio of learning information resources. She ensures resources such as journals, market reports and textbooks are readily available and easily accessible providing essential support across the whole of Northumbria University. Her advice has helped thousands of students achieve their chosen qualifications and benefit from the extensive range of research tools and information updated annually at the university.
Jan said: “I’m really proud and honoured to have received such recognition from NBS and the CIM. The hard work and effort was definitely worthwhile as I’m now able to put my knowledge into practice on a day-to-day basis and have an even greater understanding of what the students need when they approach me for advice. “I’ve always been interested in both marketing and the promotion of resources and I feel extremely lucky to enjoy a job that has allowed me to follow both of these paths.”
