IT training at the push of a button

In the middle of Adult Learning Week, a North East company has announced the release of a software package that aims to revolutionise the way training providers operate. CiA Training, based in Sunderland, has developed iCourse Professional, which allows users to create IT courses specific to their own training needs.

The system was created after consultation with training specialists from different industry backgrounds, and allows trainers to create customised resources and course documentation from CiA’s library of learning content gathered over the past 20 years.

CiA Training’s operations director Tracy Suddick says: “Training has evolved and today the need to create exciting, engaging and modular learning is vital to success. With little or no time for administration, training professionals are usually faced with the painstaking task of manually customising training resources and course documentation. “iCourse Professional takes all the effort out of the process – it allows trainers with any level of experience to manipulate its vast library of learning content and mould it into customised courseware, tailored specifically to their individual needs and those of their learners.”

CiA Training is a member of Codeworks Connect, the trade association for the North East’s digital industries. Carri Cunliffe, sector development manager at Codeworks, said: “Businesses today are more reliant on technology than ever before, so any company that wants to compete needs its staff to be well trained on how to use the latest software. “CiA’s new product will be a godsend for many training providers and companies because it means they can create training programmes in seconds.”
