F1 teens on sponsorship hunt
A team of enterprising youngsters from County Durham are revving up their engines in preparation for a nationwide competition, and are looking for sponsors to help get them to the finish line. The team of students from Ferryhill Business and Enterprise College are hoping to to enter the F1 in Schools Challenge, a competition for schools and colleges to design and manufacture CO2 powered model Formula One cars. Student teams compete against each other to determine who has the fastest and best engineered car in the UK. Ferryhill’s team of business GCSE students entered last year’s competition with no sponsorship and only two weeks to design and construct their car, yet still managed to beat off several other entrants. This year they are looking to build on their promising start, and are looking for local businesses to help them out.
Information about the F1 in Schools Challenge can be found at the website, www.f1inschools.co.uk. Anyone interested in sponsoring the team should contact Michael Dennis at dennism03@hotmail.co.uk.
