Photographer seeks his Dita Von ?Tees?
A fine art and social portrait photographer is appealing for Tees Valley-based Burlesque dancers to get in touch for an important new project he is working on at his gallery. East Cleveland-based photographer Keith Moss is putting together an exhibition of Burlesque photography due to a growing demand for the colourful, nostalgic images.
However Keith is struggling to find Burlesque dancers, similar to celebrity dancer Dita Von Teese, in the region and is appealing for ladies experienced in the early nineteenth century art form to come forward.
Keith said: “Burlesque is both glamorous and fascinating and is enjoying a massive resurgence thanks to the likes of Dita Von Teese. There is a major demand for photography depicting the era as there is a real trend for social portrait photography in this style because it appeals to both men and women. I had planned to start shooting early in the summer but so far I have been struggling to find local Burlesque models. I have been inundated with models from other areas of the country but I would prefer to work with ladies from around Teesside. Also I am a passionately against the frightening trend for so-called ‘size 0’ models and Burlesque is the perfect antithesis to this.”
