Summer of British Film season

The Tyneside Cinema, Old Town Hall, Gateshead has been chosen as one of 136 cinemas up and down the country to take part in the UK Film Council and BBC’s Summer of British Film season.
The season will see seven of Britain’s greatest films brought back to the big screen, marking the widest nationwide showing of the selected British films since their original cinematic release.
Throughout the summer, the Tyneside Cinema will play host to the selected seven films, starting with the 007 adventure Goldfinger (PG) on Tuesday 31st July at 8.20pm.
North East film lovers can look forward to the following lovingly restored British cinema classics: Brief Encounter (U), Billy Liar (PG), Henry V (U), The Wicker Man (15), The Dam Busters (U) and Withnail and I (15). All seven films will be presented on the big screen at the Tyneside Cinema on high-quality digital prints.
The Tyneside Cinema expects the Summer Of British Film season to be very popular and recommend advance booking.
