One NorthEast needs bdaily readers' help

Regional Development Agency One NorthEast is looking for assistance from bdaily readers to find ouyt about the funding needs of the North East’s business community. Currently the region has over £100m available to help firms of all sizes, from sources including:

  • Proof of Concept Fund
  • Micro Loan Fund
  • Evolve Finance (Mezzanine Fund)
  • North East Co Investment Fund
  • NEL Growth Fund

These funds have had a very beneficial impact on the regional economy, however they will be fully invested in the next year or two. One NorthEast wants to ensure that the same levels of Access to Finance are available to the region’s SMEs in the future – either by developing additional funding streams or building on existing funds where appropriate.

To help assess firms’ current finance requirements and identify any remaining gaps the agency are asking bdaily readers to take part in an online survey. The link below provides access to the survey. Please note that:

  • The survey is confidential. Individual businesses won’t be identified – only consolidated results will be used as part of the survey
  • Individual(s) within your business with responsibility for financial matters (e.g. Financial Director; Finance Manager or the Owner Manager) complete this survey
  • The survey should only take 15-30 minutes to complete and you can save the survey at any time and return to it to finish
  • There are no compulsory questions. If you are unable, or don’t wish to provide an answer, then sections can be skipped

The survey will be open for completion until 28 September. Your participation could help bolster regional funding for SMEs so please take the time to fill in the survey. It is an opportunity to feed in to an important aspect of business support within the region.
