Greggs set to cook up a storm with new charity cookbook
Greggs North East is putting the call out to all budding bakers who would like to see their favourite recipe in print, as it launches its very first charity cookbook in aid of the North of England Children’s Cancer Research fund (NECCR). The cookbook, set to go on sale in time for Christmas, will feature an array of recipes from the region.
Greggs is therefore on the lookout for people who feel they have baking “flair to share”. Bakers keen to secure space for their recipe within the cookbook are being asked to submit their recipe details by popping into any Greggs shop before Thursday 16 August. As part of the celebrations for the 25th anniversary of the Greggs Children’s Cancer Run, all profits from the Greggs cookbook will go direct to the NECCR to help further fund research into the prevention and treatment of cancer in children.
Gillian Long, sales director for Greggs North East, said: “As a region with such a strong baking heritage, we are pleased to be creating a forum for talented people to give their special recipe the attention it deserves as part of our charity cookbook. So, if you feel you make the best fairy cakes in the land or your Gran’s sticky buns are not to be rivalled, submit the recipes into any Greggs shop up and down the region now for a chance to see your recipe in print!”
For further information, ask in store at any Greggs shop in the North East.Â
