Archive firm opens doors in Blyth

Document scanning bureau and archiving business UK Digital Storage is officially opening its new 10,000 sq ft headquarters in Blyth, Northumberland, this week. The new premises will be officially opened tomorrow, and the company will be opening its doors to clients, offering tours and demonstrations of its services.

The new premises include a warehouse to archive documentation and state of the art scanning bureau facilities. The building has been customised with the latest security and fire detection equipment.

UK Digital Storage has been awarded a grant by One NorthEast to help finance the next five years of its business growth strategy and create more than 30 new jobs. The company will receive up to a maximum of £165k from the Regional Development Agency.

David Bryce, Managing Director of UK Digital Storage, said: “I am absolutely delighted to be opening our new premises. The new facilities provide the capacity to securely store more than 38,000 archive boxes and our document scanning bureau can handle over 2 million documents per month.”

Ken Samson, Business Finance Manager for One NorthEast, said: “I am proud to be officially opening the new premises of UK Digital Storage. As the regional development agency for the North East, we are committed to helping local companies grow and become even more successful, so we are delighted to be able to help with an SFI grant.

“The grant will help the company create more than 30 new jobs, which is fantastic, particularly in relation to the Regional Economic Strategy, which targets the creation of new jobs. It’s clear if we are to achieve this companies like UK Digital Storage have a very important role to play.”
