Podcast Digital adds bite to cobra beer marketing

A North East based new media specialist has been bringing a modern edge to the marketing of a entrepreneur’s new book. When Karan Bilimoria, CEO of Indian beer producer Cobra Beer, wanted an up-do-date approach to the marketing of his new book, ‘The Less Gassy Guide to Entrepreneurship’ he turned to Podcast Digital of Newcastle.

Podcast Digital was commissioned to create a series of 10 video podcasts to market the book online for Cobra. The book sees Karan Bilimoria sharing his business experience and providing advice to all kinds of entrepreneurs, company owners and business start-ups about how to build a brand and run a successful business.

Steve Bainbridge, Managing Director of Podcast Digital, said: “I was delighted when Karan asked us to create the video podcasts for his book - it was a real honour and an exciting project to work on.

“Karan recognised that podcasting offered him a means of distributing content online to a potentially huge audience. In this case it was an ideal way of promoting the book. By using video clips as a teaser it worked really well - we were able to give internet users a new way of sampling the book. To give the podcast true exposure to internet markets and potential customers we made sure it was included in iTunes Music Store as well as other popular video sites.

“We were pleased that Karan put his trust in a smaller company as many people only expect our level of knowledge from bigger companies or agencies.”

Carri Cunliffe, Head of Sector Development at Codeworks Connect, of which Podacst Digital is a member, said: “Podcasts - and particularly video podcasts - can be a very effective way of communicating messages and information, but only if they’re of good quality. Over the past couple of years, Podcast Digital has proven itself to be a producer of extremely high quality podcasts. The company’s work is justifiably starting to attract attention from top businesses such as Cobra Beer.”
