Entrust expands for the future of enterprise

Business support organisation, Entrust, has strengthened its team as it looks to develop the future of enterprise in the region. The Newcastle-based support group has appointed two senior members of staff to broaden its existing portfolio of services and support the growing number of SMEs in the North East.

Financial Services Manager, Nigel Smith from Newcastle, joins the company from Government Office North East. He will be working alongside new Business Development Manager, Susan Oliphant from Tynemouth, who joins from Business Link Tyne & Wear.

Nigel said: “I’m excited about the opportunity of working with large companies and SMEs in the region. I’m determined to build on Entrust’s existing services to provide the best possible financial support to business. “I will do this by developing our current partnerships which is essential as Entrust looks to the future. We need to be more sustainable, commercially focused and less reliant on the Government.”

Susan said: “I’m thrilled to be joining Entrust and looking forward to growing the business and move it forward. I aim to build on our existing strengths, identify new areas of expertise and increase our partnership working to help develop Entrust into a brand that is synonymous with quality.”

To mark its 25th anniversary, Entrust recently held a conference at the Sage Gateshead. The event addressed the changing role of enterprise agencies both in the region and throughout the UK and discussed what it means to be enterprising in the North East today.

Chairman David Bowles said: “In response to the changing business environment, Entrust must look to developing our alliances with our partners and joint ventures. Investing and managing these networks and relationships is critical to our development strategy and brand value. “To make Entrust a business that the region can be proud of, we must attract and retain best-in-class people, so we have the right management and leadership in place to ensure our continued success. By appointing Susan and Nigel, we have done just that.”
