Former footballer kicks off new career
A former professional footballer has been appointed Managing Director of a local print and design company after netting a host of new client contracts. 35-year-old Anth Cole, who once played for Newcastle United, Middlesbrough and St Johnstone in Scotland, now heads the team at Swalwell based JMF Print & Design.
According to Chairman Michael Foggin, his top man, who has worked his way up the JMF ladder over the past decade, has proved himself more than capable of running the business - despite his youthful age.
Mr Foggin said: “Anth has a real passion for sales and has personally won more than £¾m worth of business for the company in the past two years. It’s an incredible achievement which has helped boost our client base to more than 700 customers.”
Anth, from Gateshead, had his footballing career cut short because of injury but has no regrets. He said: “I was living every schoolboys dream. I was on United’s books from the age of 10 and was playing with the likes of Lee Clark and Steve Watson. The injury was a devastating blow but at a time when most footballers are reaching retirement age I’m now looking forward to a great career.”
Anth’s client list includes such local organisations as Metro & Magic Radio, Newcastle Chronicle & Journal, Newcastle International Airport, Sunderland AFC and his former employers Newcastle United.
