Bare bones of success

A Tyneside businessman is bringing his skeleton out of the closet in a bid to expand his company nationally. Geoff Ramm from West Boldon is hitting the road with life size skeleton Aida to demonstrate how the human body relates to marketing. He intends to tour the UK as part of plans to become a nationally recognised marketing speaker.

Geoff said: “When I started Mercury Marketing the majority of my business involved working with SMEs on a one-to-one basis offering advice on how to market themselves effectively, usually on low budgets. I still get a real kick out of helping SMEs and watching them achieve success - it makes me feel great. “I get a real buzz out of being on stage, sharing ideas and practical hints and tips on marketing. Having honed my skills in the North East, I’m now ready to tour my seminars nationally.”

Geoff’s expansion into motivational speaking means taking the business in a new direction. He has spent nine months developing a growth and change strategy, consulting with advisors from TEDCO and Business Link and preparing his new website and marketing plan.

Although Geoff is planning to take his new business national, he has no plans to change his base from South Tyneside.

He said: “South Tyneside is a great place to be based. The business community here is very supportive, and I class many people as friends as well as business associates and clients. There is a real willingness to help each other out.”
