NHS has a TH_NK about their new site
The Newcastle Upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has entrusted the redevelopment of its entire website to brand technology company TH_NK. Newcastle Hospitals manages the running of hospitals such as the Freeman, the RVI and Newcastle General as well as a number of smaller medical centres. This means its website is relied upon by patients, GPs and hospital administrators.
Phase One of TH_NK’s project, which is due to go live later this year, will be focusing on the needs of the patients and their visitors. The site will provide special features including interactive maps, treatment paths and information on departments and services.
The project is being delivered through TH_NK’s partnership with Red Dot - an enterprise Content Management System which will allow Newcastle Hospitals’ team of 11,000 employees to continually evolve and improve its web presence.
Martin Pettifor, Business Director of Newcastle Upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, said: “We are really looking forward to seeing how this dynamic, new site can help us make patients and their visitors’ experience of our hospitals as smooth as possible. TH_NK’s team have really engaged in the brief and in a very short space of time managed to understand the complexities of one of the North East’s largest employers. We are looking forward to continuing our work with them as we build our reputation as one of the UK’s most innovative hospital trusts.”
Robin Cordy of TH_NK said: “This has been a really rewarding project to work on - it’s great knowing that our ideas and technical expertise are going to make a real practical difference to people who rely upon the health service up here in Newcastle. Newcastle Hospitals have been a fantastically ambitious client to work with - the site they want from us is going to be cutting edge setting it apart from hospital trusts around the country.”
