Forum bring world-class line-up to Life's a Pitch

The Entrepreneurs’ Forum’s first sector specific conference has been proclaimed a success by those involved. The Life’s A Pitch conference, held at the Biscuit Factory earlier this month, aimed to promote the opportunities available in the Commercial Creative sector in the North East.

Delegates listened to a line-up of speakers including MT Rainey, former chair of top Rainey Kelly Campbell Roalfe, Wayne Hemingway, and former marketing director of Nike and founder of the BSG, Rod Connors. Rod said: “The talent in the North East is certainly equal to any other region in the UK including London. But at the moment it’s a well-kept secret and needs to be shared far and wide. It’s essential that agencies in the region focus on their strengths, target the right opportunities and collaborate with those who have complementary skill sets to put together the most powerful and compelling offer.”

Chief executive of the Entrepreneurs’ Forum, Carole Beverley said: “By coming together and learning from each other’s experiences, this industry has a real opportunity to achieve results that are far greater than the sum of their parts and really punch above their weight. Once again we’re delighted to be able to attract some of the world’s most respected speakers to share their wisdom - with the region’s ‘old guard’ benefiting just as much as the fresh new talent from the opportunity to pick their brains.”

During the afternoon sessions, speakers from across the region shared their experiences on a range of subjects from ‘thinking big’ and developing a niche to managing risk and creative workspace.

The Entrepreneurs’ Forum now plans to work with the industry to develop a series of workshops and create a showcase of the best work to come out of the North East and is also working to identify the next sector specific conference.
