Conga for Charity!
In order to promote awareness about Children in Need, raise a bit of money, and as an excuse to mess about at lunchtime, it appears that a giant conga line will be dancing down Northumberland Street in Newcastle today.
If you’ve got a spare fifteen minutes, put on your dancing shoes and wait outside Starbucks near the Haymarket until 12.35. We’ve been reliably informed that a whistle will blow to signal the start of the dance, which will snake its way down to the bottom of Northumberland Street while being filmed by the BBC.
If you’re in Newcastle, head on over for a bit of latin at lunchtime. Even if you don’t fancy joining in (though why wouldn’t you?) you could always donate a little for charidee.
Other Children in Need events will be happening all over the region, so check out www.bbc.co.uk/pudsey for more information.
