Online ordering system cooks up new business

A South Shields based family business has secured a high-profile new contract with the NHS. The Punjab Kitchen Ltd provides Halal and ethnic food for the public sector in the UK, while sister company Anglo Frozen Foods Ltd produce meals for patients with specialist diets.

The companies have recently secured a prestigious new contract with Greater Manchester’s NHS procurement hub and other new business thanks to their new online ordering system and the StepChange project.

They received advice and support from the TyneWear Partnership funded project, StepChange. Customers are now able to order online, look at past orders and repeat orders and receive invoices without the need for paper copies. There are also benefits for the sales team who can access back end systems and data which allow them to improve customer relationships and marketing with updated prices, images and email offers.

Yaqoob Ishaq from The Punjab Kitchen said: “Having the support of StepChange made the process painless, less daunting and more cost effective. StepChange was consistently on hand to check progress and in regular contact with us as the changes were made and finally launched.”
