Name that whale!
Many of you may already know about Greenpeace’s ‘Whale Naming Competition’. Part of the campaign group’s ‘Great Whale Trail’, the competition gives members of the public the chance to vote for the names of various whales being tracked by Greenpeace. There are many to choose from, such as Aurora (Latin for ‘dawn’) or Jacques (named for environmental activist Jacques Cousteau). The obvious choice for most, it seems, is Mr Splashy Pants.
Mr Splashy Pants is now in the lead with over 70% of the votes cast. If you want to consolidate his lead, go to www.greenpeace.org/international/campaigns/oceans/whaling/great-whale-trail/gwt-vote. I suppose you could vote for another name, but I’m pretty sure most of you will want to see a whale called Mr Splashy Pants frolicking in the ocean.
