Britain's Next Top Model to launch North East course

The former winner of the UK’s top TV model competition is to return to her native North East this week. Lucy Ratcliffe will be launching the country’s only accredited modelling course at the agency which discovered her.

Tyne Tees Models were the first to spot the potential talent of Whitley Bay girl Lucy and gave her a break into the industry, giving her the confidence to enter the television show Britain’s Next Top Model.

Since winning the contest two years ago 22-year-old Lucy has been to Paris, Milan and Greece and has appeared in numerous top glossy magazines including Red and Company and in publications such as The Financial Times along with campaigns for Ruby and Millie.

This Friday she will return to Tyneside to officially launch The Programme of Photographic and Fashion Modelling, a course which gives participants a recognised professional qualification. The course is the brainwave of Tyne Tees Models agency boss Lesley Middlemiss Lister, who has run her agency for more than ten years and realised that there was no recognised standard.

The course covers all aspects of the modelling and photographic industry and those who successfully complete it will hold a Level 2 award accredited by the Open College Network.
