Gorilla marketing campaign wins gold award
A North East-based creative communications agency is celebrating a client win at the Visit London Awards. ZSL London Zoo scooped the Gold Award in the Marketing and PR Campaign of the Year category thanks to Newcastle-based Cravens.
The campaign encompassed the launch of ZSL London Zoo’s £5.3m Gorilla Kingdom, a new enclosure officially opened by HRH The Duke of Edinburgh on 29 March 2007. The campaign was brought to life through a mix of online and outdoor promotional activity, London Underground posters, consumer leaflets and radio commercials, all designed with the remit of raising awareness of the new enclosure and increasing visitor numbers.
James Bailey, ZSL London Zoo’s Marketing Manager: “The success of this campaign is testament to the creative input and hard work received from Cravens and the team here at ZSL London Zoo. Winning the Gold award was an outstanding achievement, not least because of the number of renowned organisations we were up against, and we are proud to have been recognised in this highly competitive category. We are looking forward to delivering many more exciting campaigns in partnership with Cravens, including the forthcoming Blackburn Pavilion and Cheetah Rock in 2008.”
ZSL London Zoo also came away with the Kids Love London Award and the ITV London Tonight Best New Experience for Londoners Award.
