Chief constable breaks into own HQ
A chief constable broke into his own police force’s headquarters to test out security. Richard Brunstrom clambered up scaffolding and broke into North Wales Police’s HQ, reports the Daily Mirror. He wanted to see how secure the building was after scaffolding was put up as part of a £3.4million refurbishment, so waited until dark before climbing up to get through an upper floor window.Â
A spokeswoman for North Wales Police confirmed: “We can confirm that the chief constable tested the security himself.”
The Mirror quoted an unnamed officer as saying that climbing into the building in Colwyn Bay would have been hard work. The officer said: “You’d have to haul yourself up hand over hand. He climbed into an office window then announced to his senior officers what he had done. You have got to admit it is an interesting approach to policing.”
