Entries open for North of England Business Excellence Awards
Organisations in the North East are being invited to apply for the 2008 North of England Business Excellence Awards. The awards are open to private companies, public sector bodies and voluntary organisations of all sizes throughout the North of England.
The awards judge organisations against the principles of business excellence as laid out by the EFQM Excellence Model. Entrants are assessed on all aspects of their operation, including the way their business is run and the results it achieves. Briefing workshops are held for organisations taking part and all applicants receive feedback from a team of independent assessors.
Awards are available for both large and small public, private and not-for-profit organisations. There are also a number of special prizes to recognise businesses that excel in the areas of leadership, people management, customer satisfaction and corporate social responsibility.
Pete Macartney of North of England Excellence, which organises the awards, said: “We are looking for organisations which take a structured approach to improving their performance and which are committed to achieving business excellence. Entering the awards offers a number of significant benefits, apart from the chance to showcase your firm as a leader in its field.
“It helps to inspire staff and focus attention on business improvement, while the assessors’ report provides valuable feedback from a team of independent business specialists. It is a good opportunity to benchmark your performance against others and set targets for future initiatives.”
The closing date for registrations is 15 February 2008 and the closing date for completed submission workbooks is 4 April 2008. The winners will be announced at a gala dinner in Leeds in October. To register, contact Pete Macartney on 01925 715245 or email pete@northofenglandexcellence.co.uk.
