You could be so lucky lucky lucky at Childline Ball

Pop princess Kylie Minogue has pledged her support to this year’s North East ChildLine Emerald Ball by donating one of her dresses as an auction prize. Guests at the ChildLine emerald-themed event will be asked to bid for the item, giving the chance to walk away with a leopard print Dolce and Gabbana dress that Kylie wore at Milan Fashion Week last year.

Also up for grabs is one of only two head scarfs that Kylie wore whilst recovering from her cancer treatment, as well as a signed album.

Dennis Clark, special events manager for the NSPCC in the North said: “We are all so excited that Kylie has donated her dress to this year’s ChildLine Emerald Ball. Kylie is a great supporter of the NSPCC and ChildLine and it is a real coup for us to have her dress as a grand auction prize.

“The ball is sure to be a truly magical event which will raise a substantial amount of money to help support children. Every day around 2,500 children and young people call ChildLine but due to lack of funding, only half of these calls can be answered. “We need more volunteers who will help us reach our goal of answering every child’s call the first time they ring.”

Kylie postponed her sell out Showgirls tour in March 2005 when she was diagnosed with the early stages of breast cancer. Her appearance at the Dolce and Gabbana show in Milan was one of the first public appearances when she resumed her professional career after 12 months of treatment and recovery.

The ChildLine Emerald Ball, sponsored by SFM Legal Services and North East Property Buyers is taking place on Friday 29 February at the Newcastle Gateshead Hilton at 7.00pm. Email dclark@nspcc.org.uk to book tickets or for further information.
