Engineering group boosts industry event
A Tees Valley engineering event is receiving continued backing from local organisations. The Tees Valley Engineering Partnership are the latest group to throw their weight behind the Partners4Engineering 2008 event.
Partners4Engineering 2008 is designed to help directors and managers of engineering companies and related supplier organisations to better understand the needs and opportunities that are involved in the future growth and development of the regional process industry. TVEP will be hosting a skills workshop at the event, which is to be held in Billingham in March.
The event organisers have projected that over the next 8 years the process engineering industry has the potential to grow from £9b - £15b. The event aims to provide North East businesses information on how they can benefit from this growth. Malcolm Potter, Partnership Manager at Tees Valley Engineering Partnership, said: “TVEP was set up to provide a platform for the senior managers and directors of engineering firms to create a dynamic collaborative partnership working at all levels to strengthen and sustain the sector into the longer term. “Education and skills and the issues that surround their availability and development, are a key priority for our members. We are therefore delighted to be supporting the P4E 2008 conference and sponsoring the skills workshop.”
Phil Eadon, Project Director for Partners4Engineering 2008 said, “I believe the event will be a great opportunity to focus the minds of the regional businesses on the needs and future capability issues surrounding the growth and development of the process engineering sector. “Identifying the available skills of our local people and perhaps more importantly for the future, spotting the gaps of their expertise must be at the top of our agenda.
