TEDCO helps build business success

A managed workspace centre in South Tyneside has been helping local businesses on the road to success. The TEDCO (Tyneside Economic Development Company Ltd) centre in Jarrow has supported many business start-ups and established businesses to develop and grow since it opened its doors in 1994.

One of its current tenants is now preparing to move on to larger premises. After two and a half years based at TEDCO Business Centre, Abel Plastering Ltd are preparing to move to accommodate their growing business. Abel Plastering Ltd has grown from 20 staff when they moved into the Centre to 55 staff as they prepare to move to their new location.

Hilary Woolard, manager of the TEDCO Business Centre, said: “We are thrilled with the growth and success of Abel Plastering. When they moved into the Centre, they were destined to grow and we are pleased to have supported another thriving business in South Tyneside. “We look forward to welcoming new businesses to the centre and hope to support their development and growth.”

Wayne Lascelles from Abel Plastering Ltd said: “In the early days, the business was carried out from home. Office and storage premises became a major problem due to the growth of the company. “After a meeting with TEDCO and discussions of what they had to offer I was quick to take the opportunity with both hands. Due to the amazing growth of Abel Plastering Ltd, we are now moving on to bigger premises.

“TEDCO have been a massive benefit in the growth of the company. Not only in the supply of premises but with much appreciated advice from staff. I would strongly advise anyone with the same aspirations to follow the same route I have.”
