Design for life and location

A North East interior designer has teamed up with a Newcastle letting agency to create an office space to appeal to the under-35 market and their fixation with location.

Neil Wilson Design revamped the former HSBC bank site on Heaton Road to provide a new home for Livehere, a company which focuses on finding students and young professionals homes in sought after areas of Newcastle.

A main feature of the design is a large-scale map of Newcastle that stretches from ceiling to floor along one wall of the office, which means that location-conscious customers can see how close they are to the most popular parts of the city.

Rachel Hogarth, Livehere’s Letting Office Manager, said: “We’ve had great feedback from our customers on the design of the office. “It’s eye-catching and inviting enough that people are keen to come in and see what it’s all about but also relaxed enough to sit down and have a chat. The huge map really helps those students from outside the area orientate themselves. It’s a perfect environment for us.”

Neil Wilson said: “It was a joy to work on Livehere. The brief was flexible enough that we could really exercise our creativity. The client was keen to bring the fresh and modern look of London letting agencies to the North and we wanted to achieve a cutting edge look that conveyed the type of accommodation the agency has on its books.”

Neil Wilson Design also created Livehere’s brand identity, including the company logo. Neil said: “We felt that as Livehere is all about making students’ and landlords’ lives easier with its honest approach, we wanted this to be portrayed in an unfussy design brought to life with bold features.”
