Global expert launches NE rehabilitation service
A leading Neuro Rehabilitation specialist has launched a brand new service in the North East for those who have suffered severe head injury and disorders of the brain.
Professor Mike Barnes, the president of the World Federation of Neurological Rehabilitation, has developed and launched Hunters Moor Neuro Rehab Ltd to provide a different type of rehabilitation service for those in need.
Prof Barnes said: “Good quality patient-centred services have a real, measurable impact on the outcomes experienced by people who have suffered severe brain trauma. “Over the years I’ve been struck by the lack of good quality, private sector rehabilitation services to which personal injury solicitors, case managers and carers can refer.”
Hunters Moor has been launched as a direct response to the shortcoming identified by Prof Barnes. Together with his team of directors, therapists and support staff, the company aims to be the largest independent provider of rehab services in the UK. Their starting point is providing community based, multi-disciplinary assessment and treatment in the North East and North West of England.
Hunters Moor provide treatment for people with disabilities caused most frequently by severe head injury. The most common form of head injury is as a result of an automotive accident; however sports injuries, assaults and falls can also cause serious injuries to the brain.
