Gold award tops fine first year
A North East IT consultancy is celebrating its first year after being accredited as a key partner by the world’s largest software firm. Gateshead-based Aspire Technology Solutions counts several multi-million-pound businesses as clients and has now been awarded Gold Partner status by Microsoft.
The award recognises the high quality of the company’s products, as well as the skill and expertise of its staff. Only a few companies in the North East have received gold status to date.
The company’s managing director, Nigel Begg, says it will achieve a turnover of well over £1m by the end of its first year of trading on the back of several major client wins - including food processing firm Bernard Matthews.
Mr Begg said: “This is great news for the business as it means we’ll get direct referrals from Microsoft, as well as their support. It’s also great news for our clients because it means we’re able to get issues resolved faster and that all our staff are Microsoft-certified and approved. “We have already secured some great contracts for 2008 and are looking to grow to a turnover of at least £2m, to double our staff and expand to larger North East offices.”
